When we said 2016 will be a big year for road-legal single seater, the BAC Mono, we didn’t realise how big. After a surge in populartity and demand, Briggs Automotive Company hit the LA motorshow to show off their the 2017 model.
Fitted with a 2.5-litre engine capable of producing 305bhp and 227lb-ft (308Nm) of peak torque, this single seater can reach 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds… The updated model also features plenty of technology you would expect to find in modern day F1 cars, including traction control and intelligent launch control – Something Lewis Hamilton driver could have done with throughout this season…
An illuminated switchgear now sits on the wheel itself, which has a faster-ratio rack and turns 1.7 times lock to lock. plus an electronic parking brake has been added to reduce weight and, as with the new wider chassis – now standard – further enhances cockpit space.
Talking about the LA motorshow, company co-founder and director of product development, Neill Briggs, said ‘our venture in the united states of america is born out of extensive industry research. it’s the biggest and most lucrative supercar territory in the world, which is why it’s at the very top of our global sales strategy. success across the atlantic is testament to our fantastic team and we’re looking forward to the next step in 2017.’
