At the Shanghai Motor Show, the car company unveiled its RS 2027 vision for Formula 1 with a greater focus on drivers, safety and hybrid technology. At the heart of this is Renault’s “more spectacular, more electric” RS 2027 F1 concept. Renault look to reimagine the future of F1 racing with the RS 2027 Vision Concept. Unveiled earlier this year at the Shanghai Motor Show, the technological mockup explores the notion of closed cockpits, likely taking into consideration both aesthetics and safety factors. Fashioned from 3D-printed recycled material, the cockpit design will be completely transparent, as will be the driver helmut — offering absolute visibility while tearing up the blacktop. Fitted with a transparent cockpit, active LED lighting in the wheels and moving aerodynamic parts such as the car’s active wings, Renault wants to make the sport a more “human-centric championship”.
With cutting edge F1® blade and spoiler design on the front bumper, a rear lip spoiler and diffuser, this car looks ready to race. The only downside? The design influence comes straight from Renault F1 Team’s underperforming R.S.16. Er, Va Va Voom?
