The inspiring story of NASCAR’s Wendell Scott

Wendell Scott was the first African-American NASCAR driver, and was also the first African-American winner of a Grand National Series race in NASCAR. His career was blighted by racial prejudice, most notably from the officials of NASCAR itself. Despite these problems and setbacks, Scott is remembered for his determination and tenacity to continue racing and to make a career out of doing what he loved, regardless of his colour. Last year he was posthumously inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
