The newest member of Ferrari’s V8-engined special series is the most powerful V8 model to date.
The 488 ‘Pista’ (which means ‘track’ in Italian), is fitted with a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that has been tuned to deliver 711hp and produce a max speed of over 340 km/h. With the purpose of offering ‘track-like performance both on and off the road’ this car should meet the brief!
It certainly outperforms its predecessor (488 GTB), – producing 50hp more power with 20% more downforce, and weighing 90kg less. Unique to the Pista, has a shortened nose, and an optimised dolphin-tail spoiler. It also features the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer, software that adjusts the brake pressure at the calipers to provide an additional level of handling control and assistance, as well as new tyres developed specifically for the car by Michelin (why not Pirelli?).
